Hey, I'm Jayda!

As a Black queer woman, my journey has been filled with the search for belonging and the longing to see my story reflected on screen. Growing up, I often felt like I was living between worlds, navigating the complexities of identity in a space where my voice was rarely heard. This experience ignited a fire within me to create stories that not only represent who I am but also resonate with others who share similar struggles.

Currently, I’m a Film and TV honors student at Howard University, where I’m exploring the depths of storytelling and honing my craft. I’m drawn to film because it has the power to challenge perceptions, spark dialogue, and build connection. I want my work to delve into the lives of marginalized characters, showcasing their journeys with authenticity and depth, reflecting the multifaceted nature of our experiences.

Through my writing, I aim to capture the bittersweet moments of love, heartache, and self-discovery, all while celebrating the resilience that defines our stories.  Every script I write is a piece of my heart, infused with my own experiences and the stories of those around me.
